Young Horticulturist of the Year

Held in November each year, the Young Horticulturist Competition is a grand final that brings together the best young talent in horticulture. The finalists are drawn from sector competitions (such as Young Plant Producer) and compete in a range of challenges including practical skills, industry expertise, leadership ability, business knowledge and communication.

The Young Plant Producer of the year winner gains automatic entry into the Young Horticulturist of the Year competition, representing the plant production industry against the rest of the wider industry.

If selected as a finalist, you must be available to compete in the Young Horticulturist of the Year competition in Auckland in November. The Young Plant Producer team will support you on this journey, providing you with extra training, mentorship and support, as well as covering the costs of travel and accommodation in Auckland.
